High Tea History

No longer just for the wealthy classes...

High Tea Happiness

The delicious indulgence of #hightea originated in England in the 1840's. The wealthier classes would enjoy a variety of sandwiches filled with delicacies of cucumber, egg, fish paste or ham and finish with scones, jam and freshly whipped cream or Victoria sponge traditionally served in the afternoon. By the end of the 19th century this tradition spread to the middle classes.

Today high tea is for everyone and is commonly served not only with tea but Champagne (way to go - that's my style) and is usually a formal affair, but here at #ElegantEmu in #Adavale we like a relaxed but still fancy affair - not so much formal but fun.
